All play & no work makes for a dull day! Any help with the weeds would be

DHP & Blue Dog in from Whitefish about 1PM. Calm, mostly sunny & 74 degrees.
Did a bag of knapweed - now is the time that they have bloomed & the whole plant
with its seed pods must be bagged and banished to the landfill. Sadly, I found
a brand-new (to me) patch of knapweed up on the flat. Visited with Joe & Sharon
Madsen, they sold their business but are not leaving/moving.
August 17 (Tuesday)
50 degrees calm & clear at 7am. Will go attack the "new" patch of knapweed after
breakfast. Did knapweed bagging until 2pm, ran out of gas so went & picked
chokecherries & took weed bags to the landfill. Got up to about 86 degrees.
Found out we had a small fire last Sat over by the Clarabelle. It was the result
of a lightning strike on Thurs & the spotter sent a crew in Sat & they dealt with
it successfully. That explains all the new track up that way - our tax dollars
at work!
August 18 (Wednesday)
Calm, clear, 50 degrees at 7am. Put to the west 80 to resume the bag work.
Hauled weeds & garbage to the landfill after it got too hot for weeds. 95 degrees

breeze in eve. Counted 12 cows in here - couldn't see any brands. 50 degrees -
10 PM.
September 5 (Sunday)
48 degrees - 8AM - sunny day - lots of yellow jackets & pesky small black flys.
We ended up sitting in the cabin most of the day. Bruce & Nikki St. G. here about
2 PM - ate dinner with us. Bruce found 2 places with fence down near the spring.
Cows headed toward Blue Sky Heights. We didn't see any of them in the eve. Bruce
& Nikki left early, she's allergic to stings. Clear night - 64 degrees - 1030PM.
September 6 (Monday)
50 degrees - 8AM - sunny. Went up the plaques right after breakfast - before the
heat moved in. Nice walk - the flying pests weren't out yet. Sat in the cabin
again, played games, & ate! Picking up about 4PM, heading out. 70 degrees 4:30PM
good weekend!
September 7 (Tuesday)
DHP & Blue Dog & Montana Land Reliance lady here at 2pm. Nice day. Lady left at

Her name is Noorjahan Perwana in case you need to know.
September 8 (Wednesday)
36 degrees, clear & calm at 7am. Off to the weeds after breakfast. Took a load
of knapweed to the land fill this pm. Picked CC's on Jackson Creek, enuf for jelly
and syrup.
September 9 (Thursday)
40 degrees, clear & calm at 7am. Off to Whitefish after breakfast. The Tordon
spray did a good job up the draw. Will plan to use some more next year where
needed!
October 4 (Monday)
Blue Dog & I in at about 3pm from Whitefish. All's quiet. Sunshine & 72 degrees
in the shade, dry! Put some D-Con in the garage & down in the basement - watch
your pets & kids.
October 5 (Tuesday)
Clear & cool at 7am, a slight breeze down the draw - sun over the hills at about
8am. Met with Montana Land Reliance people this morning to finalize our conservation
easement. Went out this pm & spray-painted gate post, etc. for "no hunting" signs.
Worked up some firewood, plus patched fence by spring & on east end. Saw 15-20
antelope in Schuele's pasture. Also saw a pretty red fox down by Jackson creek -
kind of nice to do something besides knapweed!
October 6 (Wednesday)
Overcast & calm at 7am. We'll be heading out after breakfast & loading up the Ford.
