May 16 (Sunday)
Partly cloudy calm 74 degrees @ 1 PM
Kevin Michele Kyle Kassi her friend Carl & Kyles friend Anna. Kandice Elaine's
first visit to the cabin. A large chunk of the roofing is missing from above the
porch. Something(s) been eating away above the kitchen/dining room windows.
530PM clouds are getting darker. Borrowed a few lilacs. Locking up & heading out.
May 25 (Tuesday)
Skye dog & DHP in from Whitefish at about 2 pm. Calm, scattered clouds, 50 degrees.
Almost 1" in the rain gauge. Fed the creepers some miracle grow and the roses some
rose food. The creepers need help.
May 26 (Wednesday)
Clear, calm, about 37 degrees at 7 a.m. Cleared some fallen trees out of the south
fence and the NE fence. A quiet day, no wind. Put some rat medicine in the garage.

Totally overcast & raining at 7 a.m. 43 degrees Too wet to plow so will head for
Whitefish this morning.
May 30 (Sunday)
Nikki, Josh, and Nolan Jerome came in on Sat 29. Just sprinkling some. Karen &
Lois out after 12PM - nice when we got here - clouding over now. And then. Barbequed
hamburgers - yummy, Thanks to Nikki. The Jeromes left middle of the afternoon.
Sunshine & breeze enjoyed by Karen & Lois. When K & L came in we saw 5 bucks a short
distance from the So. gate this way watching us. Great surprise! Heading out about
5 PM to Helena. 60 degrees PM afternoon.

Pat & Gary in at 5:30 PM. Thundershowers from 6:30 to 7:30. Temp 60 degrees at
8:00 PM. Played Canasta with Lee & Carole & in bed about 11:00 PM.
June 24 (Thursday)
Cloudy & 50 degrees at 8:00 AM. Lee & Gary into Helena in the AM to pick up a
few things. Temp 69 degrees at 2:00 PM - still cloudy. Don P. & Allan Bonney in
about 2:00 PM. Joann in at 4:10 PM.

June 27 (Sunday)
42 Degrees @ 6 am Calm. Lotsa crowd left - a few at a time. Sure quited down
then - seems awfully empty around here, Zach Hansen & Richard Davy took Jenn's dog
for a walk - clear to Jackson Creek - they were going to Montana City!
June 28 (Monday)
46 - 6:30 AM. Clear
76 degrees, clear at 7: PM
Pat & Gary Baker & the Hansons spent the afternoon playing in the water at Canyon
Ferry. Lee & Carole & Lois & Joann gone by the time we returned at 4:00 PM. We've
got the whole place to ourselves!! Quiet evening reading, card games & a movie.
June 29 (Tuesday)
Overcast, 58 degrees at 7:00 AM. Back to Canyon Ferry for a picnic this afternoon.
75 degrees, overcast at 5:00 PM. Still overcast 66 degrees at 9:00 PM.
June 30 (Wednesday)
Overcast, 50 degrees at 7:00 AM. Rained for a couple of hours during the night.
Hansons left for Billings about 9:30 AM, Pat & Gary left at 11:30. See you all
next year!
July 10 (Saturday)
Suuny, 80 degrees at 1115 AM. The Petersen's: Roger & Angel, Travis and Josh,
Derek, Dawson came out to climb Eagle Rock and spend the day (part of it) on the
rocks. Had to walk in due to change over in key control on North Gate.
July 14 (Wednesday)
DHP in from WF at about 3 p.m. Nice sunshiny day 74 degrees in the shade.
Yellow roses in bloom - nice.
July 15 (Thursday)
Clear, calm, 42 degrees at 7 a.m. The war on weeds continues. 84 degrees on the
porch & 90 degrees in the cabin this p.m. Sprayed weeds this a.m. There's still
a few out there if you're interested.
July 16 (Friday)
Clear, calm, 45 degrees at 7 a.m. Will break camp & head back to Whitefish this
morning. Please water the vines by the porch with whatever you can spare. This
is a tough time for them especially the little ones.
August 4 (Saturday (Believe this should be September 4 gpb)
1215 pm - Helen, Greg & poochies in from Missoula. Beautiful, sunny, 74 degrees
F on porch. Lots of pack-rat poo on porch. Smell pretty strong.
3 pm - Showers, thunder, lightning in the Elkhorns
3:30 pm - Karen, Lois, & Sterling in from Helena/Gt. Falls. Greg ( Helen's spouse)
is cooking up a meal we will have for the eve. Tried to rain but didn't get there
(wherever). Carla & Paul R. came later. Stars are out, good day.
September 5 (Sunday)
7 35 AM Temp 46 degrees Clouds & slight breeze. Cooks for the day are Carla &
Helen - enough for everyone. Another good day - Helen & Greg headed for Msla
3 PM. More stars again, cooling off.

DHP in from Whitefish by way of Missoula
Calm, high clouds & 61 degrees at 4 pm. Donald was the cook tonight and we had a
wonderful Tsing-Tao venison stir-fry dinner. It was accompanied by vintage Franzia
chardonnay, a 2010 vintage with a full, fruity flavor.
We must check re endangered species to see if we can wage war on the pack-rats.
Their pee and poo is really fouling the front porch.
It's almost a full moon tonite, peaceful & calm, 46 degrees at 8 pm.
October 20 (Wednesday)
Clear, calm, 31 degrees at 7 am. Supposed to get to the 60's today. Made a trip
to Bozeman & had lunch with Jennifer and Monte. Bought some rat & mouse treats
& put them out - - - warning for pets & kids! Calm & 62 degrees at 4 pm. There's
some strange baggage under the big picnic table - - - maybe a body? I'm afraid to
look. A full moon in two more days. Really impressive tonite.
October 21 (Thursday)
Clear, calm, 30 degrees at 7 a.m. Meet with MLR rep this am. Then off to WF.
October 29 (Friday)
RP clear, windy and 38 degrees this morning. Travis, Josh and I came out for some
nature hiking. Saw a lot of Pack rat left overs on the porch but it appears that
the treats are working. Should have brought a basketball out to shoot hoops!
November 9 (Tuesday)
DHP in about 2 pm from WF. Lots of clouds, small breeze, 37 degrees. will hunt
this p.m. & evening. Got a nice buck 3:30 pm.

High overcast this morning. Calm & 22 degrees.
